Postpartum support.

Have you heard of postpartum doulas? Postpartum doulas are often overlooked in comparison to their birth doula counterparts, but their role in supporting new mothers and families during the postpartum period is equally as important. As a postpartum, my role is to help you adjust to life with a newborn, offering emotional and practical support in a non-judgmental and nurturing way.

If you're interested in learning more about the services I offer, I invite you to schedule a free, no-obligation intro cal where we can chat further about your needs and how I can support you during this special time.

Prepare for postpartum

Preparing for the arrival of a newborn can be both exciting and overwhelming. As your doula, I can provide guidance and support to help you navigate this transition with more ease and confidence. This is a 3 hour session at your home with me during your third trimester. Together, we can explore:

  • how your relationship dynamics may shift and create a postpartum plan that honors your individual needs and values.

  • I can also assist you in setting up your home to be a nurturing and comfortable space for your family

  • and even prepare nutritious meals for your postpartum recovery.

  • Additionally, I can help you and your partner divide household tasks to ensure a more balanced and manageable workload.

Let's work together to create a plan that works for you and your growing family.

Postpartum doula care

As soon as you arrive home from the hospital with your newborn, or adjust to the new reality after a homebirth, I'll be there by your side as a comforting hug and reliable companion to assist you in transitioning into early parenthood with ease and care.

Some of the things we’ll do together:

  • processing the birth experience, reflecting on it and crafting a birth story that allows you to connect with your achievement and create a tangible memory of the beginning of your family.

  • emotional and informational support for baby-feeding and offer guidance in finding the most appropriate resources and experts to address any issues you may encounter, whether it's related to breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, or any other feeding-related concerns.

  • caring for your newborn while you unwind, rest or take time with your older children to adapt to this new reality

  • caring for your older children while you bond with your newborn and your partner

  • running basic errands (i.e. grocery shopping, pharmacy) to help you prioritise rest

  • meal planning, cooking and grocery shopping so as to help with nourishment, healing and optimal lactation

  • helping you gain familiarity with the qualities of responsive parenting and use several tools to bond with your baby and form your first attachment (such as babywearing)

  • helping you navigate the Greek paediatric system: who to contact in case of an emergency, who checks your baby's growth, what you need to ask in your baby's growth appointments etc

Let's work together to create a plan that works for you and your growing family.

Food and Nourishment

As a postpartum doula, I offer a unique service of providing nourishing meals specifically designed for the postpartum period. I will prepare these meals in my own kitchen and deliver them to you, ensuring that you receive the proper nutrition during this important time. This service will allow you to focus on rest and recovery while also taking care of your healing needs.

While the package can be customised to meet the unique needs of you and your family, I would suggest the following as a minimum.
